"Gratitude: An Expression of Love" (1 Thessalonians 2:1-8, Matthew 22:34-46)

Gratitude is defined as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. For example, a) Gratitude makes us happier; a) Gratitude makes us healthier; c) Gratitude makes us more optimistic; d) Gratitude reduces materialism; e) Gratitude increases spiritualism. Gratitude is no cure-all, but it is a massively underutilized tool for improving life-satisfaction and happiness. Now friends, because we know that we are loved by God we can extend love. Agape love, which is he commitment of devotion that is directed by the will and can be commanded as a duty—unconditional love. Augustine to God: "By loving the unlovable, You made me lovable."
