"Jesus, Lover of My Soul" (2 Thessalonians 1:1-4, 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12, Luke 19:1-10)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, October 30, 2016
Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

“C.S. Lewis a militant atheist, Oxford don. The last thing he wants is to be converted. God sneaks up on him, and Lewis is "surprised by joy," and he says, "I am dragged kicking and screaming--the most reluctant convert in all the world--into the Kingdom." This love affair that God has with humanity has been from the very beginning. And continues to this very moment. You see, our soul is what God sent Jesus to die for—to rescue, if you will! Zacchaeus was going find that out.
