Akio Iyoda

Evangelist Akio Iyoda

Akio Iyoda came to our church in September 2009.  He has a deeply-felt calling to provide the Good News to Japan, and he is glad to find that our church will partner with him in some preliminary work on Long Island. He is currently a certified candidate for ordination with the United Methodist Church.
He received his Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY. He also completed four units of CPE from New York Theological Seminary and serves as chaplain at Interfaith Medical Center. He has served as a short-term missionary in Kenya, and is currently the Summer Camp Director for Special Ministry to the Japanese, an ecumenical organization. He and his wife, Nobue, are associate members of The Navigators and coordinate an outreach to Japanese women and children that is our church’s Japanese ministry.  Nobue is an ordained Pastor and serves at a church in Long Island.
