"Know Your Weeds!" (Psalm 139:1-12, Psalm 139:23-24, Matthew 13:24-30, Matthew 13:36-43)

Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

Recently, I read this saying, which I modified a bit, “Deal with your own weeds. While you are working on your weeds with God, let God work on the other person’s weeds!” A weed is defined as a valueless plant growing wild, especially one that grows on cultivated ground to the exclusion or injury of the desired crop. Or any undesirable or troublesome plant, especially one that grows profusely where it is not wanted. There are folks who are always working on another person’s weed. There are folks who can always pick the weeds out in your life. Frankly, they point them out to others! In the meantime their lives are overrun with weeds.
