"Jesus: The Praying Healer" (1 Corinthians 9:16-23, Mark 1:29-39)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, February 4, 2018
Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

The songwriter penned, “When Jesus the healer passed through Galilee, Heal us, heal us today! The deaf came to hear and the blind came to see. Heal us, Lord Jesus…There is still so much sickness and suffering today. Heal us, heal us today! We gather together for healing, and pray: Heal us, Lord Jesus.” Jesus is the “Great Physician” but Jesus always spent time in prayer with God. Scripture tells us, “In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.” We must also do what Jesus does—we must seek God in prayer.
