Jesus said, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” The songwriter penned, “Must Jesus bear the cross alone, and all the world go free? No, there’s a cross for everyone, and there’s a cross for me. The consecrated cross I’ll bear till death shall set me free; and then go home my crown to wear, for there’s a crown for me.” Yes, we can and must bear our cross since Jesus our Lord and Savior bore his cross, which he bore for us, because of his great love for us.
