"Instructions for a Holy Lent" (2 Corinthians 5:20-6:10, Matthew 6:1-6, Matthew 6:16-21)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, March 6, 2019
Part of the Lent series, preached at a Ash Wednesday service

Here are some key “Instructions for a Holy Lent:”
1) Reconciliation rarely occurs without sacrifice. By giving His one and only Son, God took the initiative in healing our broken relationship with him. He made the supreme sacrifice for us that we might be reconciled to him.
2) God will take nine steps towards us, but He will not take the tenth. He will incline us to repent, but He cannot do our repenting for us.
3) Fasting makes us vulnerable and reminds us of our frailty.
