"Stand Firm in the Lord!" (Philippians 3:17-4:1, Luke 13:31-35)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, March 17, 2019
Part of the Lent series, preached at a Lent service

Stand up, stand up for Jesus ye soldiers of the cross; lift high his royal banner, it must not suffer loss: from victory unto victory his army he shall lead, 'til every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed. We live in a world where folks are finding it difficult to “Stand Up for Jesus.” Is Jesus lamenting over us? Is Jesus weeping over our denial of him? Are we ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Are we too politically correct to mention Jesus? Have relegated Jesus to an every now and then Sunday morning?
