"Is Jesus Still Crying 'Woe?'" (Isaiah 11:1-10, Luke 10:1-16)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, December 8, 2019
Part of the Advent series, preached at a Advent service

Woe - great sorrow or distress. Woe - things that cause sorrow or distress; troubles. The theme for the second week of Advent is peace. Too often our understanding of the word “peace” is limited to worldly peace – the absence of war. But the word peace – as proclaimed by the angels to the shepherds at the birth of Jesus – has a much more spiritual significance. There is: emotional peace; spiritual peace; physical peace.
