"The Do's and Don'ts of Holy Living" (Joel 2:12-17, Matthew 6:1-6, Matthew 6:16-21)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, February 17, 2021
Part of the Lent series, preached at a Ash Wednesday service

What are Do’s and Don’ts? They are rules or customs concerning some activity, as in “It's important to know the do's and don'ts of diplomatic receptions.” Lent asks believers to set aside a time each year for similar fasting, marking an intentional season of focus on Christ’s life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection. Ash Wednesday often called the Day of Ashes, starts Lent by focusing the Christian’s heart on repentance and prayer, usually through personal and communal confession.
