"Your Mission, Should You Choose ..." (Galatians 6:1-16, Luke 10:1-11, Luke 10:16-20)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, July 3, 2016
Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

My friends, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Jesus wants realists in the church who are willing to plunge into the water and go to work. But Jesus does not want us to go it alone! Earlier in the chapter, Jesus has just finished making sure that his followers understand what being a disciple is all about. He introduced them to the concept of cost. We learned last week that for us there will be costs as well. For some the cost may be greater and of a different type than others, but all will experience the cost of discipleship. In our text today, we’re going to get a taste of discipleship from Christ’s viewpoint.
