Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

A Lament or Lamentation is a passionate expression of grief, often in music, poetry, or song form. The grief is most often born of regret, or mourning. Laments can also be expressed in a verbal manner, where the participant would lament about something they regret or someone they've lost, usually accompanied by wailing, moaning and/or crying.Over sixty or so psalms are regarded as lament psalms either wholly or in part.To lament is to cry out to God. The Psalms reminds us that we have the permission—the freedom to lament—to cry out to God. And God will hear and receive both our praise and our lament.
