"The Great Reversal!" (Jeremiah 17:5-10, Luke 6:17-26)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, February 17, 2019
Part of the Sunday after Epiphany series, preached at a Sunday service

The Beatitudes: They are admonitions to sacrificial living and sacrificial living is the door to Christian Freedom. A Good Word for Poverty: Jesus says, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.” Here Jesus is referring to those who have recognized that the greatest need in life is spiritual, not material. Rather than pursuing a life of accumulating the world’s goods, these people have recognized their spiritual poverty before God and have come to Him, often at the expense of worldly success.
