"Don't Stop Now!" (2 Timothy 3:14-4:5, Luke 18:1-8)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, October 20, 2019
Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

One writer states, “I believe persistent prayer is very important, even when such prayers are not answered in the ways we think best. It is important to be unrelenting in our prayers...not only because of the changes our prayers may elicit in God's mind, but for the changes such prayers can work in our own hearts and minds.” The word “Persistent” means “Continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.” Or “continuing to exist or endure over a prolonged period.” We read in Scriptures: “In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, “Grant me justice against my opponent.” For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, “Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.” ’
