Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday service

A road trip, sometimes spelled road trip, is a long distance journey on the road. Typically, road trips are long distances traveled by automobile. The long and boring trip that eventually becomes memorable and fun through time. And “A Road Trip with Jesus is not always a walk in the park. Last week’s story from Luke was set inside, namely, in the home of a Pharisee where Jesus had been having relatively intimate mealtime conversations and interactions. Here, the setting shifts outside and goes public. Jesus is now on the road, and traveling with large crowds. More than this, there is also a shift of topic. Many are thronging Jesus coming along on his journey and following, the focus turns to discipleship.
