"The Choice to Follow Jesus" (Ephesians 1:3-14, Mark 6:14-29)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, July 11, 2021
Part of the Pentecost series, preached at a Pentecost service

The songwriter writes: “Must Jesus bear the cross alone and all the world go free? No, there's a cross for everyone, and there's a cross for me.” We sing the words of these hymns, but do we really reflect on the words—the lyrics! John the Baptizer did not know about the cross of Jesus at the time of his death but he “choose to follow Jesus!” “The consecrated cross I'll bear till death shall set me free, and then go home my crown to wear. For there's a crown for me.”
