"Prayer for the World" (Psalm 98:1-9, John 12:20-33)

Rev. Dr. Marjorie E. NunesRev. Dr. Marjorie E. Nunes, March 21, 2021
Part of the Lent series, preached at a Lent service

The saving work in this Psalm is deemed marvelous, supernatural and something God has done with his “haply arm.” This means that Israel’s salvation from slavery was not accomplished through human effort or resources. Likewise, our salvation through Christ is accomplished by God’s power and not by human effort. The salvation in this psalm was not done quietly, but has been made known to the whole world. Likewise, our salvation through Jesus Christ is the turning point of all history and is available to all people through faith.
